Jon Foreman, lead singer of the popular band Switchfoot, was inspired to write “The Sound (The John M Perkins Blues)” by Dr. John Perkins’ autobiography Let Justice Roll Down. A line in the song says, “John Perkins said it right, ‘Love is the final fight.’” Since the release of the song, Dr. Perkins and Switchfoot have been working together in many regards.
