Our mission is to train and equip a new generation of indigenous leaders who are driven by the love of God to pass on the torch of reconciliation and youth development in America and the world.

We believe that children are our greatest asset and true change in our city, state, country and world will only happen by investing in their future. We stand firm on the truth that every person is created in the image of God and has inherent worth. We teach our children that no matter their circumstance, family or history they have the choice to take responsibility for their own education, character and future.

The Spencer Perkins Center is a safe-haven for the children in the West Jackson community. Our facilities include a playground, three basketball courts, two classroom buildings, pavilion, amphitheater, and baseball field. We have our Afterschool Program, Summer Arts Camp, Girls and Boys Club, and Good News Clubs at different times during the year.

The Spencer Perkins Center is named after John and Vera Mae Perkins’ late son Spencer. Before he passed he was an editor of Urban Family and Reconcilers magazines. He also co-authored More than Equals with Chris Rice. The Center bears his name as a tribute to his commitment to reconciliation and the children and families of West Jackson.
