Interested in becoming a mentor to students from Jackson's inner city, then T.A.L.K.S. Mentoring of Jackson has the perfect program for you. The program which is currently serving students at Pecan Park Elementary School in West Jackson needs volunteers who can spend one hour a week mentoring students in grades three to five. Mentoring training and handbooks will be provided.

T.A.L.K.S. is an acronym for (Transferring A Little Knowledge Systematically), a mentoring program founded in Champagne, Illinois by Dr. Harold Davis. It uses an exciting and educational curriculum written by Dr. Davis and his wife, Dr. Ollie Davis. We’ve used the curriculum in our youth programs here at the John M. Perkins Foundation and believe it will help us make a substantial difference in the lives of young people in Jackson by sharing fundamental wisdom with them and providing reliable caring relationships with adults.

 For additional information phone 601-354-1563.
